The Ridgeland Mansion Philadelphia Wedding Photographer | Philadelphia, PA

I had a chance to catch up with Lindsay and Ken to talk about their Ridgeland Mansion Philadelphia Wedding Photographer.

What was your most anticipated part of the day?  LB: I was most excited for the ceremony, but I most anticipated the reception when I could finally relax.
KB: The most anticipated part of the day was seeing Lindsay and getting married.

Did anything unexpected happen? What was the outcome?  LB: The day mostly went as planned on my end. However, a few hours into the ceremony, my mom spilled red wine on my dress. Luckily, most of the planned photos had already been taken and I could brush it off after a quick panic and being swarmed by a dozen women with club soda.

KB: The day went as perfectly as possible for me. I was surprised that I wasn’t nervous. I had been told my whole life how nerve-wracking your wedding day can be and I wasn’t nervous at all.

What ended up being your favorite part of the day? LB: My favorite part of the day was the ceremony. Looking at Ken while he shared his vows and looking out to all of my favorite people, who traveled from all over the country, and were there to share that moment with us.

KB: Seeing Lindsay on her dress for the first time. “Sweet Thing” started playing as I saw a flash of white through the trees, before my wife-to-be came in to full view.

What advice would you give to future couples for their wedding? LB: Plan as early as possible. It’s never too early to book a vendor. It’ll save you money and stress.

KB: You don’t have to spend a lot of money for it to mean a lot.

Were you nervous? How did you squash the nerves? LB: I wasn’t nervous until I started walking down the long aisle at Ridgeland Mansion Philadelphia. But the nerves weren’t about getting married. I was nervous about tripping or snagging my dress on the pathway.

KB: I wasn’t nervous at all.

What was the biggest surprise on your wedding day? LB: How all of the stress leading up to it really doesn’t change the outcome. No one notices, or cares, if something is missing or slightly off. People are there to celebrate you and enjoy every minute of it.

KB: How smoothly everything went.

What was your wedding inspiration? LB: Not specific inspiration, but I started following a bunch of pages on Instagram to get ideas.

KB: Whatever Lindsay wanted.

What song did you walk down the aisle to? Sweet Thing by Van Morrison

What song played for your first dance? Beyond by Leon Bridges

Tell me about some of your favorite wedding details and how you came up with them! LB: We went to quite a few weddings in 2021, which were a great way to discover what we liked and didn’t like. For me, I really saw the importance of activities. I’m not into dancing, so I liked when weddings had other activities. For our wedding, I included a crossword, MadLibs at each table, a map for people to share where they traveled from, and the biggest hit of the night, an open-air Photo Booth.

Any advice for those couples planning their wedding now? LB: Don’t push things out on your to-do list. You may cross them off your list super early, but you’ll be glad it’s already done during crunch time.

How did you feel at the end of the day? LB: Happy, celebrated, and exhausted. KB: Perfect.

What are you most looking forward to as a married couple? LB: Life getting back to normal! It was a chaotic last couple of months and the honeymoon has been great (currently typing this from Italy), but I’m ready for a more relaxed life again and not having a 5-9 wedding planning job after my 9-5 every day.

KB: Starting my life with my wife.

What did you like most about working with Unforgettable Expressions Wedding Photographer? LB: Andrew is great! He takes creative, beautiful shots that are far beyond the average photos you see for every wedding.

KB: Danny brought a ton of energy, helped loosen things up, and was a ton of fun!
