Polina and John’s Intimate vow renewal
It was awesome spending the day capturing the moments as they happened at Polina and John’s intimate vow renewal. I had the chance to catch back up with them and ask them a few post wedding day questions.
What was your most anticipated part of the day?
Seeing everything fully set up and ready to go on time, as we were unsure about the elevator working!!Did anything unexpected happen? What was the outcome?
Honestly, we totally expected things to go wrong, as that is perfectly normal when you take on planning and putting in so much legwork as a family to make the day happen. So when nothing went wrong and we finally could take a deep breath to ourselves in the office and let that sink in, it was really nice. What ended up being your favorite part of the day?
P: Seeing all the people who came to the celebration, even though we talked to a very small percentage of guests.J: The speeches, especially Val’s (I’m sorry, Colin, you did great too). What advice would you give to future couples for their wedding?
P: Having multiple plans can save a lot of stress and it will be much easier to readjust knowing other available plans.J: Don’t sweat the small stuff, and live in the moment! Were you nervous? How did you squash the nerves?
P: As someone who has social anxiety, I was very nervous being surrounded by so many people and being in the center of attention. To help with feeling less anxious, John helped me to feel grounded and supported right before the celebration started.J: Yes, but I was also more nervous for Polina. We did some meditated breathing for about a minute and then came out and I think the rest of the day was awesome, and I ended up being the one choked up saying my vows, while Polina was confident and beautiful as I’ve ever seen her. What was the biggest surprise on your wedding day?
Val’s speech. What was your wedding inspiration?
We really liked the neutral colors of the furniture at Maximalist Studios, combined with the awesome variety of spaces and functions it created. Then to have a separate white room to do the ceremony and dance in was great. What song did you walk down the aisle to?
Feels Like the First Time by Foreigner (When we both walked back down the aisle)What song played for your first dance?
Acolyte by Slaughter Beach, DogAny advice for those couples planning their wedding now?
Be patient and always be looking for solutions, and reasonable ways to implement someone else’s plan (Mom, Dad, Bro, Sis, etc.). This way, you can avoid being close-minded about your vision, and instead open to expanding your vision and having fun brainstorming ideas! How did you feel at the end of the day?
J: AMAAAZINGP: Really awesome! What are you most looking forward to as a married couple?
Well it’s been over a year, but most looking forward to getting a house and starting a family, and making awesome memories together. What did you like most about working with Unforgettable Expressions?
Making us feel great about ourselves while taking pictures and being flexible before and during the event.
